Well Oppo tomorrow (5/9) I leave to the UK to start the Pub2Pub Eagle Rally. Sadly the GTO has not sold, but she will be up on BAT soon. This means I haven’t had the chance to buy my own TVR, but I will be co-driving with the event organizer and friend Ben Coombs in his TVR Chimaera.
Our trip to the Eagle’s Nest looks roughly like this. I am sure we will be taking longer more fun back roads as we have time to do so, but Google doesn’t account for fun sadly.
Route back includes stopping at Spa for Spa classics which I am over the moon for!
I am sure if some Euro Oppos were to cruise with us or somehow accidentally meet up I don’t think you’d be turned away.
While I am sad I won’t be buying my own TVR yet and driving it around Europe, I am not going to let that bother me because I am still driving a TVR across Europe!!! Fuck I am excited

Oh man, what an awesome trip! Enjoy and must over post to Oppo.
BTW I saw a really good documentary on Eagles N est and how it was one of the last Nazi strongholds, I forget but I think it was on PBS.

I will try to post as much as I can.
Yeah it should be really cool. The elevators are powered by U-boat engines.

That looks like a lot of fun, I hope you enjoy it!
I don’t know how much time you have al ong the way or if you have planned stops, but i f you have some time in Stuttgart, I recommend the Porsche and Mercedes Museums. Both are good but it’s virtually impossible to do both in a day. If you are short on time and want to see cool cars, go to Porsche. If you have more time, want to see a TON of stuff ( cars, trucks, engines, etc.) and/or you’re a museum nerd like me and want to read and learn and want a really great historically grounded presentation, go to Mercedes.
The TV Tower is a great spot for drinks and has an awesome view of the city and surrounding area . I can also recommend some resturaunts if you are interested.
Also looks like you’re going to be swinging by the ‘Ring. They have a great museum there as well. And of course if the track is open you can get a pass and take a hot lap. It’s really, really, really cool and absolutely worth doing if you can fit it in.
My sister lives in Stuttgart and has traveled all over Germany and the surrounding area so if y ou’re looking for any information or ideas for things in Frankfurt, Munich, Brussells, etc. I can ping her for suggestions.

Yeah the itinerary has a ton of stuff on it. Many museums and car related stuff. So I am going to try and do as much as humanly possible.
I hope we get to do the Ring and some unrestricted Autobahn.
Thank you for the possible suggestions, but the trip is pretty well planned out, but if I need any info I will hit up Oppo.

I figured this was pretty well planned out - I mean there’s official stickers, so you know it’s pretty professional! But I’m always happy to help.
You’re going through a really beautiful, awesome part of Germany. You’ll be close to the Black Forest (mmm... cake). When you head south from Stuttgart, swing a bit futher west and you’ll be rewarded with some amazing roads through the F orest . And possibly cake.
Take lots of pictures and have lots of fun!!!

Yeah this is year 2 of this trip too, so I bet he has it well sorted.
Yeah I am quite excited. I will have to try some black forest cake because I make a mean Schwarzwald Kirche Torte, but I need to see how it stacks up.
And yes I will inundate Oppo with all my photos

Have fun!
I suppose the “Luxemburg” stop was supposed to be the country instead of the Belgian province? Anyway, if you’re going through there, you might consider stopping in Bastogne. Plenty of WWII stuff (tanks, monuments, ...) around, given that it’s the area of the Battle of the Bulge.
